Why The Name ‘Ditty Diva’?
‘Ditty‘ – Steph loves ditty, ditsy patterns.
‘Diva‘ – Steph’s patterns are also bold and have a hint of diva about them.
Meet the Founder
Steph is the founder of Ditty Diva Design Studio. She creates beautiful, bold and colourful surface patterns to bring you joy.
If you love colourful stationery, bags and homeware, keep your eyes peeled for when she launches her first products in 2025.
The History Behind Ditty Diva Design Studio
This brand was first set up as a lifestyle blog in the 00s about Steph’s life in the North East of England, but her career took a different path for a while.
She kept the name because she loved the catchy sound of it.
Nearly 10 years later, after taking Bonnie Christine’s Immersion online surface pattern design course, she knew the perfect name for the brand she wanted to establish.
About the founder
Steph has been teaching herself surface pattern design for nearly 15 years, when she first figured out how to create a tile repeat.
Marriage, a baby, and many life challenges happened during that time, but Steph never stopped learning about how to make patterns.
After various SkillShare classes, finally being able to afford an Adobe Illustrator subscription, and taking the leap and enrolling in Bonnie Christine’s ‘Immersion’ course, she can now call herself a surface pattern designer!
Steph has loved stationery since the annual trip to Woolworths to choose her latest pencil case and notebook for the start of the school year. She fell in love with Cath Kidston bags and notebooks when she stumbled across the Chiswick store while living in London. Then, in being in heaven, when she discovered MT Washi Tape.
Steph’s design influences:
- Orla Keily
- Cath Kidston (sob!)
- Paperchase (sob!)
- MT WashiTape
- Liberty

- Garden cottage flowers
Notebooks, washi tape, files, folders, pretty pens, tea towels – anything with a ditsy or bold, colourful pattern catches her eye.
